The Federal Government has announced the development of priority projects to be implmented in the period 2019 – 2024, where the participation of the private sector is forseen. These projects may not be included in Mexico Projects Hub, since they are in a preliminary stage of design or are intended to be developed by public works.
Mayan Train
Tourism project whose objective is to boost the economy of the states of Chiapas, Tabasco, Campeche, Yucatan and Quintana Roo. The train considers an approximate length of 1,470 kilometers.
Likewise, it is expected that this project will foster a cost reduction of freight transport in the zone and will represent a transport altenrnative for its inhabitants.
Mexico Toluca Interurban Train
First interurban railway that will contribute to improving connectivity between the Metropolitan Zones of the Toluca Valley and the Valley of Mexico. The project comprises a double electrified railroad, with a length of 58 kilometers in elevated viaduct and tunnel, 4 stations, 2 terminals, workshop and garage, with 30 trains with a capacity of 750 passengers each.
It is a fast and efficient transport alternative for those who move between the two cities and is a priority to boost the economy and create jobs.
Program for the Development of the Tehuantepec Isthmus
This program consists of the modernization of the railway, port, airport and road infrastructure to foster an efficient communication between the ports of Coatzacoalcos, in Veracruz, and Salina Cruz, in Oaxaca, thus boosting the economy of the region.
Dos Bocas Refinery, Tabasco
This project has an estimated cost of USD 8 billion, with the objective of increasing the country’s production capacity of gasoline and diesel. The refinery will have a processing capacity of 340 thousand barrels per day by applying high energy efficiency technology.
Solution to Airport Transportation in the Valley of Mexico
The project’s objective is to increase air transport capacity in the Valley of Mexico and improve the quality of services through the following actions:
- Modernization of the facilities of the Mexico City International Airport.
- Increase operations of the International Airport of Toluca.
- Expansion of the Santa Lucia military airport to transform it into an international airport of civil and military use.
