DESCRIPTION

AGREEMENT (06/29/1998). The assets that are part of the Southeast general railway communication line and, the buildings and facilities for the delivery of auxiliary services are destined to the service of the Ministry of Communications and Transportation.
The Southeast general communication railway line has a length of 1,479.06 km. Its main routes are Teotihuacan – Veracruz (434.74 km); Cordoba-Medias Aguas – Coatzacoalcos - El Chapo (533.15 km); Puebla – Tehuacán - Sánchez, (234.52 km); Apizaco - Puebla, (44.84 km), and Huehuetoca-Tula-Pachuca – Irolo (231.79 km).
This line connects the States of Puebla, Oaxaca, Veracruz, Tlaxcala, Hidalgo, State of Mexico and Mexico City. The railway line provides freight services to the ports of Veracruz and Coatzacoalcos in the Gulf of Mexico, and can provide services to the port of Salina Cruz, in the Pacific Ocean.

ORIGINAL CONCESSION (June 29, 1998). The concession of the general communication railway line that corresponds to the Southeast trunk line was granted to Ferrocarril del Sureste, S.A. de C.V., which includes the short route Coatzacoalcos-Merida, as well as its operation and exploitation. The general communication railway line includes the railway, right-of-way, traffic control centers and railway operation signals.

The term of the concession is 50 years, starting on date of completion of the delivery-reception due diligence of the railroad track and the assets, or as of February 17th, 1999, whichever occurs first.

AMENDMENT (Nov. 29, 2012). Excludes the Tres Valles-San Cristóbal branch, GB railway line.
MODIFICATION (Oct. 10, 2023). Excludes the sections of lines "Z", "ZA" and "FA" that run from Coatzacoalcos to Medias Aguas, Hibueras to Minatitlán and from Coatzacoalcos to El Chapo, respectively; the concession is extended for 8 years.
