DESCRIPTION

On Dec. 18, 2024, the Coordination Agreement of Actions was signed between the Secretariat of Infrastructure, Communications, and Transportation (SICT) and the State of Veracruz de Ignacio de la Llave. Through this agreement, the SICT transfers the Coatzacoalcos I Bridge to the State Government for use, major and minor maintenance, and conservation, including the permanent remodeling and care of the infrastructure to ensure it remains in optimal service condition. This will be funded by the State Government itself. The bridge is classified as a toll-free federal roadway, and the agreement will remain in effect for 10 years, with the possibility of extension starting from the date of signing.

ORIGINAL CONCESSION (Aug. 27, 2004). Concession to operate, exploit, conserve and maintain the 1,679 m long bridge over the Coatzacoalcos River, including its accesses, located in Coatzacoalcos, Veracruz, at the 1+200 km, on the Matamoros-Cancun federal highway 180. The concession includes the right-of-way, works, constructions and other goods and accessories. From the generated revenues, at least 70% will be used to develop the project of the Tunnel, and up to 30% to cover the costs of operation, exploitation, conservation, maintenance of the bridge, administrative expenses and reserve fund, among others.
