DESCRIPTION

The project consists of a concession to provide public transportation services through electric vehicles, specifically buses, covering the municipalities of Mérida, Kanasín, and Umán along the following routes:

I. Mérida Centro – UADY Faculty of Engineering.
II. Mérida Centro – Kanasín.
III. Mérida Centro – Teya (Maya Train Station).
IV. Mérida Centro – Umán.
V. Mérida Centro – Poxilá (Maya Train Station).

A minimum fleet of 32 electric buses will be required, with aesthetic attributes resembling trams, including the necessary reserve to ensure service coverage.

The provision of public transportation services will be integrated into the Metropolitan System of Friendly and Sustainable Mobility, to which the concessionaire must adhere, complying with the general operating conditions, including payment per kilometer traveled, electronic fare collection with smart cards, a centralized resource management system, and other elements inherent to the system.

REMARKS

The Fonadin (National Infrastructure Fund) provided support to the Mérida Integrated Transportation System in two stages, which included, among other components, the implementation of routes with dedicated lanes associated with the Ietram project.

On Dec. 16, 2023 Paseo 60-La Plancha-Teya route began operations.
On Jan. 02, 2024 Mejorada - La Plancha - Kanasín route began operations.
On Aug. 10, 2024, the Centro-Umán-Maya Train route began operations.
