DESCRIPTION
The objective of the Project, according to the latest available information, is to achieve an integral management of solid waste in the municipalities of Cojumatlán de Regules, Sahuayo, Jiquilpan, Villamar, and Venustiano Carranza in the State of Michoacan, through an efficient collection and transfer system, the use and valorization of marketable waste and reducing as much as possible the amount of waste that will be destined for the Regional Sanitary Landfill.

To achieve the above, the following components are considered:

i. Acquisition of Collection and Transfer Vehicles
ii. Construction and equipping of a Transfer Station
iii. Construction and equipping of a sorting plant in order to commercialize the recoverable waste.
iv. Construction of a Regional Sanitary Landfill
v. Closure of 5 Sanitary Landfills.

The Project considers 21 years, of which one year corresponds to the construction period and 20 years to the operation period.

The foregoing, in order to properly manage the 204 daily tons of waste currently generated in the Cienega region.

The last confirmed date was the ruling of the bidding process in 2021. Currently, there is no official information confirming the current status of the project.
