DESCRIPTION

ORIGINAL CONCESSION (May 27, 2010). Concession to build, expand, modernize, operate, exploit, conserve and maintain the 169.232 km long, 2 lines, Mitla-Tehuantepec, section of federal jurisdiction in Oaxaca, including rehabilitation and expansion works. The concessionary has the exclusive right to subscribe the provision of services agreement with the Federal Government. The concession includes the right-of-way, auxiliary services, accessories, works and constructions.
FIRST MODIFICATION (Apr. 17, 2022). The validity of the concession title is extended to 40 years.

PROJECT’S SUSTAINABILITY SUMMARY

The project aims to promote economic development in the region and to more than 80,000 inhabitants of 13 communities in the region along its 338 kilometres of lanes that will connect the city of Oaxaca with the Isthmus of Tehuantepec as well as the industrial port of Salina Cruz, promoting the participation of the communities in their conservation measures.

REMARKS

In March 2023, the SICT put 18.2 kilometers of the highway into operation, ranging from km 147+640 to km 165+838, in addition to section 1 (Mitla-Santa María Albarradas) and section 3 (Santo Domingo Narro- Tehuantepec II junction). With this progress, 111.7 kilometers are already in operation.
