This year, passenger train works begin on 4 sections

  • The routes: Mexico-AIFA, Mexico-Pachuca, and Mexico-Querétaro will be inaugurated in 2027.
  • The Lechería-AIFA section is 80% complete and is expected to open in July.

The President of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, announced that this year, construction of the passenger train begins on the following sections: AIFA-Pachuca in March; Mexico-Querétaro in April; Querétaro-Irapuato and Saltillo-Nuevo Laredo in July. The “Felipe Ángeles” Military Engineers Group of the Secretariat of National Defense is already conducting the basic engineering work to facilitate the development of the railways.
