Description: At the Santa Lucia Military Air Base, located in Zumpango, State of Mexico and only 45 km from Mexico City’s Benito Juarez International Airport (AICM), the Felipe Angeles International Airport was built to be, together with the AICM and Toluca International Airport, part of an integral airport network in the metropolitan area of the Valley of Mexico.
Among the objectives of the Felipe Ángeles International Airport are the following:
- To reduce the saturation of the Mexico City International Airport.
- To offer airport services to help satisfy the demand in the Valley of Mexico.
- Improve the connectivity of the Metropolitan Airport System of the Valley of Mexico.
- Increase operational efficiency, improve user service quality and connectivity between airports.
- Strengthen the competitiveness of the regional and national economy in airport matters.
