New Barranca Larga-Ventanilla Highway Opens to Traffic
After 15 years of waiting, the president inaugurates the 104.3 km highway in Oaxaca; the road is 104.3 km long and is expected to have a daily traffic volume of four thousand vehicles; it generated 1,800 direct jobs and more than 3,500 indirect jobs.
- The project will benefit more than 100,000 inhabitants and will save 4 hours of travel time from Oaxaca City to Puerto Escondido.
- The current federal administration invested more than 10.64 billion pesos after restarting its construction in 2020.
- The highway has 2 lanes of traffic with shoulders, 2 toll plazas, 15 junctions and accesses, 10 bridges, 3 viaducts, and 3 tunnels.
- This highway brings opportunities for inclusion, development, and well-being for the more than 500,000 inhabitants of the 50 municipalities in this region.
- It´s expected to have a daily traffic of four thousand vehicles.
