The winning consortium was: Operadora CICSA S.A. de C.V. in association agreement with FCC Construcción S.A.

Section 2 of the Maya Train route runs approximately 235 km, going from Escárcega to Calkiní in the state of Campeche.

The United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) carried out an independent analysis – and in parallel – to the proposal review process carried out by Fonatur, and stated its agreement according to international standards. Both the analysis process carried out by Fonatur and the UNOPS concluded that the consortium Operadora CICSA S.A. de C.V. in association agreement with FCC Construcción S.A. it was the one that represents the best value for money for the Maya Train project.

In accordance with the established schedule for the bidding for the construction sections of the Maya Train, the National Fund for Tourism Promotion (Fonatur) reports that 15 technical and economic proposals were received to carry out the construction of Section 2 of the Maya Train corresponding 235 km, from Escárcega to Calkiní in Campeche.
